“Emmy” Nga Nguyen, OD

Dr. Nguyen attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA and graduated with a Bachelor in Biological Sciences. After finishing her undergraduate studies, she received her Doctorate in Optometry from Rosenberg School of Optometry.

Dr. Nguyen strives to get to know her patients to better understand their daily visual needs and ocular health concerns. She believes in quality patient care. She can be seen at the office for comprehensive eye exams, contact lens exams, and medical eye emergencies.

When not seeing patients, Dr. Nguyen enjoys movies, traveling, and spending quality time with her son and husband.

Victoria Nguyen, OD

Meet Dr. Victoria Nguyen, originally hailing from Louisiana, she pursued her undergraduate studies at University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a major in Biology and minor in Chemistry.

Driven by her desire to make a difference in people's lives, Dr. Victoria embarked on her journey to become an optometrist at the University of Houston College of Optometry. There, she honed her expertise in providing comprehensive eye care and personalized solutions to her patients.

Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Victoria has a vibrant personality and a diverse range of interests. When she's not caring for her patients, you can find her scrolling through Tiktok videos, exploring new travel destinations, and savoring delicious meals with her fiancé. She's also a proud fur-mom to three adorable cats, who bring joy and companionship to her life.

One fun fact about Dr. Victoria is that she has an undying love for spring rolls – a delectable culinary delight she never gets tired of indulging in. With her warm demeanor and passion for eye care, Dr. Victoria looks forward to welcoming you to Focal Point Eye Care and ensuring your vision remains crystal clear for years to come.

Sarah Shafi Naeem, OD, FAAO

Dr. Sarah Shafi Naeem is a residency-trained optometrist originally from South Florida. She attended the University of Miami, where she received her Bachelors of Science degree in Neuroscience, with a minor in sports medicine. She then earned her Doctorate in Optometry from Nova Southeastern University’s College of Optometry. Upon completion of her residency in Primary Care with emphasis in Ocular Disease at the Wilmington Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Wilmington, Delaware, Dr. Shafi obtained a fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry.
She is committed towards providing optimal eye care to meet all your visual needs.

In addition to her love of treating patients, she enjoys traveling, exercising as well as spending time with her family and friends. Dr. Shafi is a Miami-native who is fluent in English, Spanish, Urdu, and Hindi.

Julie Nguyen, OD

Dr. Julie Nguyen was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana and graduated Cum Laude honors with a bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She later went on to earn her Doctorate of Optometry at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida.

As part of her clinical training, Dr. Nguyen completed her rotations at Filutowski Eye Institute and at the Orlando VA Medical Center where she extensively trained in the management of ocular diseases such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma. She is also experienced with managing pre and post-operative care for cataract and lasik patients.

Dr. Nguyen is a certified Therapeutic Optometrist who routinely manages and diagnoses ocular diseases, dry eye syndrome, and fitting various contact lenses. Her main focus is giving quality primary eye care and in-depth patient education.

Outside of the office, Dr. Nguyen enjoys trying out new restaurants, traveling, and most importantly spending time with her family and friends. She is devoted to giving outstanding eye care to the city of Houston and its surrounding areas.

Metta, Office Manager

Metta is our Office Manager. She's the friendly face that keeps things running smoothly. With a background in cosmetology and dental assisting, she stumbled upon her real passion in the optometry field, where she thrives on building strong bonds with our amazing patients.

When she's not juggling office tasks, Metta loves hanging out with her husband and two beautiful daughters. She's a big fan of trying out new food adventures and working out. So, if you see her around, don't hesitate to strike up a friendly chat!

Jessica, Assistant Manager

Jessica is our multi-talented Assistant Manager, referral coordinator, and myopia management coordinator. In addition to her roles in our practice, she's also a skilled real estate agent. Jessica's secret to success? Her sharp eye for detail and a genuinely caring approach that makes her a standout in both fields.

When Jessica isn't busy working her magic, you can find her immersed in a good book, tending to her garden, or relaxing by the lake. Her love for learning and zest for life are infectious, and they radiate through every facet of her remarkable journey.

Kaitlyn, Optometrist Assistant

Kaitlyn is our friendly optometrist assistant. She proudly graduated from Cy-Fair High School and is a full time college student.

Originally from Brownsville, Texas, Kaitlyn has had the exciting opportunity to call Dubai, League City, and Cypress her homes, each place adding its own unique flavor to her life's journey.

When she's not working or studying, you can find her lost in a good book, drawing and painting, or having a blast with her playful pup, Loki.

Erika, Optometrist Assistant

Erika's journey began in sunny Southern California before she made the Lone Star State her home about seven years ago. Today, she's on a mission at the University of Houston in Katy, completing her second year of nursing school

When she's not hitting the books, Erika finds joy in reading, cherishing moments with her family and furry friend, going on exciting trips, and sharing laughs with her friends. Fluent in Spanish, she lends her expertise to our optometrists on weekends, making her a valuable member of our team.

Sandra, Optometrist Assistant

Sandra grew up in the small little town of Waller, Texas. She graduated from Waller High School and continued her education at Lone Star College-Tomball. She plans to continue her education at Sam Houston University to achieve her goal of becoming a medical professional.

Sandra loves expanding her knowledge across many different subjects such as cosmetology, real estate, and the importance of engaging with patients and customers daily. Whenever Sandra is not working, she enjoys her spiritual journey at church with family and friends, going to the gym, and immersing herself in romance and mystery books.

Fun fact: Sandra loves to sing her heart out to Spanish style songs that she grew up with and even sung at my high school Cinco de Mayo performances.

Diana, Optometrist Assistant

Diana is a dedicated full-time student with a passion for eye care and continual learning. Alongside assisting in the office, she is committed to expanding her knowledge in the field through her academic pursuits, with the ultimate goal of becoming an optometrist in the future.

Outside of work and studies, Diana finds joy in spending quality time with family, cherishing each moment together. In her free time, Diana indulges in her culinary creativity, finding solace and satisfaction in the kitchen.
